Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a powerful myofascial release technique, effective in treating a wide range of conditions by releasing tension, rehydrating the fascia and helping to remove waste from the body.

Fascia is a specific type of connective tissue and the largest sensory organ in the body and surrounds all other tissues in the body . It is rich in a range of receptors that influence the body's neuro-muscular physiology, improving circulation, lymphatic and venous draining, assimilation of nutrients, elimination of toxins, joint mobility a release muscle tension.

Excessive stress, injury and fatigue can fuse the fascia together as it works to protect underlying muscles creating inappropriate postural positioning and holding patterns in order to stabilise the body.  These patterns  can create acute and chronic pain, impair movement, circulation and lymphatic flow.

Bowen Therapy works by applying gentle cross fibre moves to muscles, tendons and ligaments to affect fascia, integrating meridians, acupoints and trigger points.

Bowen Therapy stimulates the body's innate ability to heal itself, providing rapid and often long-term pain relief and restoring homeostasis (balance) to the body.
